Jimmy Fallon is hosting the Emmys this year (which is being televised on NBC as you know) and he says that it’s almost crucial to touch upon the whole NBC debacle with a few gags, which he has already planned with Conan.
The Tonight Show with Conan O’Brien is nominated, don’t forget to watch this Sunday! Jul 10
As you may have heard from all the news outlets and from our previous post, the writing category of the Emmy awards will not be part of the primetime televised portion this year, but instead will be part of the creative Emmy. The I’m With Coco Facebook group and our friends over at NoFactZone.Net are organizing a movement that can help put the category back on the main Emmy telecast. If you would like to help (which we encourage you to do so), it’s very easy, all you have to do is make the call to the Emmy planning offices to get the writers and directors awards back on the air! Here are some tips that our friends over at the Colbert camp and the facebook gang have graciously sent over: Jul 10
It’s been reported that the Outstanding Writing for a Variety, Music or Comedy Series category will not be televised on the Primetime Emmy this year, but instead will be aired as part of the Creative Emmy Awards on E! Apparently, it’s an agreement between the guilds and the TV academy “in which they agreed that the writing and the directing competitions for best variety, musical or comedy series (aka “VMC’s”) and VMC specials (think “Kennedy Center Honors”) would take turns being part of the televised portion of the two-night Emmy ceremony.” It’s really a drag since it produces some of the biggest laughs (seriously, the only laugh) in the whole ceremony since we all get to see the writers’ nomination video from Conan’s team to Jon Stewart’s to Stephen Colbert’s writers. As you all may have heard by now (as I am late in updating this piece of absolute good news), The Tonight Show with Conan O’Brien is up for FOUR Emmy Awards! Yay! And for those of you keeping score, Jay Leno’s version got none… (just throwing it out there) Oh, and here are some links that you can check out: Team Coco’s reaction, Emmy Official Nomination list, LA Times – The Envelope Nov 09
